More respect than ever.

I have gained even more respect for the genius behind the Creative Commons License. Larry Lessig is already a hero for his work on intellectual property. Now we can add anti pedophilia crusader:

The Choirboy
As head boy at a legendary choir school, Lawrence Lessig was repeatedly molested by the charismatic choir director, part of a horrific pattern of child abuse there. Now, as one of America’s most famous lawyers, he’s put his own past on trial to make sure such a thing never happens again.

Good news meets the NYT

Arthur Chrenkoff the author of Good News from Iraq has made it into the NYTimes. I highly recommend reading both his blog and the NYTimes pieces. It is a nice antedote to the media negativism. All the news that's fit for toilet paper.

Salads

Countrylife.net has a cool article on why people hate salads at home and love them out. It is the mix of veggies that are in the salads. This makes sense. I was not a big salad fan until I tried lots of different things. I found that spinach salads are my thing. From there I branched out....

Idea from the latest DSC

I really enjoyed the latest DSC podcast with Steve, and I did listen to the
whole thing! There is one flaw that I see in podcasting that is similar
to the flaw that allowed the consultants to take over FM. That is the
cost of entry. The cost of entry in FM was the transmitter. People
can today get micro transmitters similar to your 100watt transmitter
that you loaned the troops in Iraq, but they have no impact. It is
the big guys that have impact.

The same problem WILL plauge podcasting unless we act. The problem is
bandwidth, as the Strategycast showed. That is the cost of entry
that could kill a mass market for podcasting. There are multiple ways
around this such as bittorrent, and it is not as complex as you think.
As you said podcasting is like tivo for audio, and bittorrent + rss
is like tivo for torrents. There are already clients that show this.
Look at clients like videora. To marry the two and make it automagic
to download content to a computer based on feeds, and below that
search criteria.

Check it out and please let me know what you think..

616 the number of the beast.....

From the Independent. It turns out that 666 is not the number of the beast. It is actually 616. Does that mean anyone in that area code is going to hell? The best line in the story comes from the satanists.

...satanists responded coolly to the new "Revelation". Peter Gilmore, High Priest of the Church of Satan, based in New York, said: "By using 666 we're using something that the Christians fear. Mind you, if they do switch to 616 being the number of the beast then we'll start using that."
